Hearing Agenda
- Opening remarks from hearing officer/board
- Plea of either “responsible” or “not responsible” from accused student(s)
- If there is a plea of “responsible” the hearing moves to the sanctioning phase. Please note, the hearing officer will ask for the pertinent facts of the case prior to sanctioning.
- Complainant’s opening remarks
- Accused student’s opening remarks
- Complainant’s presentation of facts (including questions for complainant)
- Accused student’s presentation of facts (including questions for the accused student)
- Questioning of additional witnesses
- Complainant’s closing statement
- Accused student’s closing statement
- Final questions
- Deliberations: the hearing officer/board will deliberate in private
- Hearing officer/board will present decision of responsible or not responsible
- If "not responsible": the hearing is concluded
- If "responsible": sanctioning phase
- Presentation of academic record and student conduct history if such history exists
- Accused student’s impact statement
- Complainant’s impact statement
- Hearing officer/board asks questions
- Sanction deliberation: the hearing officer/board will deliberate in private
- Sanctions are announced
- The hearing is concluded
